About Me:
I have four children ages 14, 16, 27 and 28. I have a 22 month old granddaughter, a husband, a welsh corgi and siamese cat. I live in a rural community in southwest Colorado called Dolores. Between my family and my job, life is pretty non-stop. If I do find spare time I love to read and do crafty things (I make fabric baskets that I sell in a gallery in Anchorage and one in Cortez, sew, scrapbook, etc.) I love being outside (when it's not too hot!!) Before moving to Colorado, I lived on an island in Alaska for ten years. I miss the ocean but do not miss the rain!! In Dolores, we have about as many sunny days as we had rainy days in Alaska.

Professional Experience:
I have taught everything from preschool to college since I got my bachelors in elementary education in 1984. I currently am a mentor/coach in 28 classrooms in three counties with a social-emotional program called the Incredible Years for young children, their teachers and families. It is very rewarding work - I see lots of growth, especially in families of the parenting classes that I teach. I am dually employed - part of my time is paid by a family resource center in Cortez, and part is paid by a non-profit, Invest in Kids, out of Denver. I do teacher trainings as well. I wear lots of hats, but love the flexibility and creativity that my jobs allow. I just finished the Buell Early Leadership program.
